Message I bought my '90 TT this past Jun. It has 70k miles and was all original with no problems. I then did some upgrades (standard package- injectors, ECU, intake, exhaust, EBC, BOVs). I went to pick the car up from the shop and my HICAS light has been on ever since.
Unfortunately it is not as easy as "always on" though (otherwise a code may be able to explain it). I drive the exact same roads and speeds everyday and have been trying to find any kind of trend, here's the only ABSOLUTE trend I can find:

On colder days it takes longer for it to come on (up to 10-12 minutes, hot days it will be on at start), but it always does come on every drive. Once on, it will go out momentarily (regardless of temp) as soon as the RPM is around 3k or higher. Then as soon as I reduce the RPM (by shifting or anything else) it will illuminate again.

Other triggers that make the light come on are:

-Turning on A/C
-Low engine RPM while releasing the clutch from a stop in first gear (low power clutch release, close to stall conditions)
-Attempting to decelerate by coming off of the accelerator while in gear

I have read all other postings regarding HICAS and troubleshooting, but none seem to meet my specific criteria. I guess it's some sort of electrical problem? Maybe the temp sets it off? Does the system have a temp switch? Could the RPM be just "vibrating" a wire to stop or create a short?

In an attempt to not ramble forever I'll cut this off now, but I do have more "data" I've collected over the past few months to answer any specific questions anyone who can help may have.

Thank you in advance for any help!!
